Every day is a play day in SW Colorado
When it comes to recreation, there is no "bad" season here.
kayaking on Animassnoboard[SW Colorado] When it comes to recreation, there is no "bad" season for SW Colorado and its neighbors to the south and west. Anytime of the year is a "good" time of the year here. For the outdoor enthusiast and adventurer of every level and interest, there is always something wonderful to do. Colorado, and the Four Corners area are all about enjoying being out doors.

Summer fun includes all kinds of water sports, hiking, biking, Atv and Jeep adventures and climbing—we're surrounded by "fourteeners." If height is your thing, and you're not into hanging on by your fingernails, we've got hot air baloons and hang gliders and can even serve you some champagne when you come back down.Summer is also our biggest festival season, with concerts, beer fests, ice cream socials, parades, outdoor theatre, and plenty of parties in the park.

Everyone thinks "ski" or "snowboard" when they think Colorado, and Telluride certainly has the reputaton for that. But we've also got snowshoeing, cross country skiing, some helacious snomobiling on incredible groomed trails, and for the really brave... world class ice climbing.

There are plenty of family and educational activities, too. State and national parks offer chances to explore and learn about the area from knowledgable guides and park rangers. Tribal parks and research facilities offer classes and summer camps. The area positivly teems with "scenic byways" (see the complete list in our Travel section), and lovely drives that can take hours, days, or even weeks.
