OUR PUBLICATION. "SAN JUAN SILVER STAGE". This publication is one of several published by San Juan Publishing Group, Inc.
The "Silver Stage" began as a publication to showcase arts and activities throughout the "Silver San Juans." Covering Western Colorado, and the adjoining areas of the other Four Corners States - New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, the "Stage" was in print, first as a newspaper then as a "glossy" magazine, from 1996 through 2008. It was our first publication to appear online as well as in print. And because we believe in "saving a tree" as well as the prodigious power of the internet, we've gone web-only. The "Silver Stage" is now a web magazine. And, we have a new focus—sustainability.
OUR MISSION. The "Stage" reaches an educated, aware audience attuned to the myriad environmental and economic issues facing us today. Our mission is responsible living: honoring and preserving our heritage and protecting precious current resources for a sustainable future. We advocate conserving an ecological, economic, and social balance through environmental management and responsible consumption. It is our goal to inform and educate by:
-
(1) presenting timely articles with suggestions on how we can achieve this balance and build a sustainable future,
- (2) offering suggestions about activities (things to do and see, places to visit, cultural and recreational opportunities) that address our mission, and
- (3) profiling people whose lives provide a positive influence in protecting our past and preserving future.

OUR CONTRIBUTORS. Anyone with a passion for a subject covered by the “Stage” can and does contribute. We're always looking for a fresh voice, a new concept or idea, a provocative presentation. If a story generates questions, even argument, it’s a welcome contribution. We aren't married to the seven main topics (shown above in the navigational bar), so if you have something new and interesting to offer, please do!
SUBMISSIONS. We welcome stories with regional and local interest and subject matter compatible with our mission. If your topic is good, but your writing skills less so, we'll be happy to help with editing or a re-write as needed. Please query our editor with your topic and area of interest before submitting your work. Please limit your word count to 1500 words or less. More, and you're probably in the market for a booklet or book—and we do that too. All submissions must have the author's name, daytime telephone number and e-mail address. Contact information is for our records only and is not published except for your byline, and a brief bio where appropriate. Information and reprint rights: email our editor.
ADVERTISING. If you are interesting in advertising with us, please contact us via e-mail and leave a daytime telephone number where we may reach you. At this time, we offer banner ads only, and those will be placed on a story page related to your advertising content. We can and will refuse any advertising that is contrary to our mission or otherwise unacceptable. We are also looking for someone in southwest Colorado, whose interests are compatible with ours, and who is interested in selling these ads for us on a commissionable basis. If you fit that description, please contact us via e-mail and leave a daytime number where we can reach you.
