PICTURE-PERFECT VERDE CANYON
ATTRACTS PROFESSIONAL FILM CREW
It's not the
destination;
it's the journey.
Verde
Canyon, Arizona [2006]
Towering
crimson canyon walls, expansive valley views and the lush
riparian habitat of the upper Verde River recently enticed a major
electronics company to film aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad. The
end product will be featured in Best Buy stores nationwide, showcasing
the latest in plasma television color and contrast technology.
Because
the unspoiled canyon is adjacent to a wilderness area, there
are few roads traversing the chasm. The film crew took advantage
of the historic tracks of the Verde Canyon Railroad to get the enhanced
beauty they were looking for to sell their product. The dynamic
color contrasts of the canyon and its wildlife in a natural setting
along the Verde Canyon Railroad tracks proved to be the combination
desired for their high-tech presentation.
“We
were happy to accommodate this professional group of commercial artists
aboard our train,” said Teresa Propeck, marketing director. “We
always knew our canyon was ‘picture-perfect.’ This project serves
to confirm what our passengers have been saying all along.”
The
Verde Canyon Railroad is located at 300 N. Broadway, Clarkdale, Arizona
and ideally situated below the cold of the mountains and above the heat
of the low desert. The train depot is 25 minutes from Sedona, two hours
north of Phoenix, and one and one-half hours south of Flagstaff.
