A GREAT way to the end the day or cap off a fantastic vacation?
How about
some top notch entertainment with authentic foot stompin' cowboy music
of the old west along with the best in cowboy vittles. Performing seven days a week May through early September 8, the Wranglers alternate different shows on the odd and even days of the month. They serve up a great menu nightly, featuring sliced roast beef or chicken simmered in BBQ sauce, baked potato, baked beans, applesauce, old-fashioned cake with coffee or lemonade served up in "The Cowboy Way." This year they are also offering a beef and chicken combo for those buckaroos or buckarettes with a larger appetite. The food is plentiful, hot, well cooked and served on time. Mighty fine!! The Bar-D-Wranglers special brand of songs, poetry, and stories of the old west, feature Cy Scarborough on guitar, Bob Minser on the big "Dog House" bass, a new member, Matt Palmer on fiddle, and Gary Cook on guitar who has been awarded the National Flatpicking Championship for three years in a row! The Wranglers are not only fantastic musicians but all can sing with vocal harmonies guaranteed to thrill young and old alike. Cy serves up some very entertaining stories, some of which even sound believable, and his humor is that cowboy, campfire, kind that leaves the crowd grinning from ear to ear. This is a guaranteed good time for the whole family and would show those visiting friends and relatives what western hospitality is all about. Come early to visit their many shops which are fun and filled with unique gifts and items you won't find elsewhere. Check out the The Artisan, which features local paintings, pottery and photography; The Music Store, offering videos, tapes, and CDs of the Bar-D-Wranglers; and Smuts Blacksmith Shop, specializing in wood and iron objects. Also visit The Gift Shop which has western gifts and momentos of your trip to the Bar-D, The Leatherworks full of quality crafted leather goods, The Chocolate Factory, just too delicious to be missed, with chocolate, hand made locally from the finest natural ingredients. Last, but certainly not least, stop by The Book Nook to browse through books of the old west, cowboy poetry, cookbooks, and much more! The Ticket booth opens at 5:30, tables are assigned from the stage back as you purchase your ticket and parties of 14 or more are pre-assigned. The Chuckwagon Supper is served at 7:30 p.m. The Bar-D spread is located just 20 minutes north of the western town of Durango on the scenic East Animas River Road (8080 County Road 250). Reservations are required so please call (970) 247-5753 or toll-free 1-888-800-5753 to treat yourself and your guests to a real western evening under the stars in good weather or covered with the Bar-D tent when the weather is so-so. Either way
you will
be in for some fine entertainment along with a delicious chuckwagon
supper!
Let the Bar-D-Wranglers do the pickin’ and you can do the grinnin’!
