Serving Colorado and the Four Corners since 1996 |
| Canyonlands Natural History Association
CNHA has been a nonprofit partner with federal agencies at tourist destinations throughout southeastern Utah since 1967. The group's goal is to enhance visitors' understanding and enjoyment of public lands by providing quality educational materials. Sales at CNHA stores support new publications, interpretive brochures, educational seminars, and a variety of research projects on the Colorado Plateau. According to CNHA Director Cindy Hardgrave, "People protect what they understand and appreciate. Visitor use is increasing and government funding is declining, so the role of cooperating associations will continue to grow. Our partnership with the Anasazi Heritage Center and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument is a new adventure for us, and a great opportunity to extend the work we do." While the majority of CNHA's partnership locations focus on natural, rather than human history, its existing outlets at Hovenweep and Natural Bridges National Monuments both address the exceptional archaeological resources of the Four Corners. CNHA also manages the multi-agency Moab Information Center and the new visitor center at Arches National Park near Moab. CNHA members receive a 15% discount all year on most items, a discount also honored by other cooperating associations at shops in national parks, forests, and monuments across the United States. For more information call the center at
