A
lovely book, full of surprises. And, a wonderful sense of discovery.
Steelman’s photographs are outstanding, lushly composed and intricately
interesting. The view through his viewfinder clearly depicts Steelman’s
long-time love affair with Colorado, its wildlife and scenery. He captures
moments that make you ask, “How did he do that?”
Yet, he did, and the closer you look, the more you will see. Like the
snowshoe hare mid-way through its seasonal change—part brown, part white.
Did you ever see that? Or, looking closely at a peaceful meadow, you realize
the bits of color you see aren’t flowers, but the spots on a new-born fawn.
Steelman also takes you places you’ve never been, maybe never even heard
about. Picketwire Canyon, Coffee Pot Spring—do you know where they
are? Steelman does, and if you can’t make the trip in person, his camera
will take you there.
Steelman reveals the mysteries, moments and magic that is Colorado.
This is a book you will enjoy time and again—always finding yet one more
