Serena Supplee by

Durango, Colorado [Summer 2001] The beauty of the canyons, rivers and her beloved garden inspire artist Serena Supplee to interpret what nature creates. A seasoned
river
runner, Serena travels waterways and roads armed with the tools of er
trade
until a setting fires her imagination. She settles in and paints,
capturing
the moment live.
Originally from Iowa, Serena earned her BFA at Northern Arizona University. She worked summers as a guide on the Colorado, Green and San Juan Rivers and has run the Grand Canyon numerous times. Besides working in watercolors, oils, and Japanese woodcut block prints, Serena recently discovered the Giclee printing process, making it possible to produce a print of any of her paintings. Serena's work graces numerous private collections, including Phantom Ranch in the Inner Gorge of Grand Canyon National Park. Works in progress any be seen at her home in Moab by appointment. Come and visit her show of watercolors, oil, and new Giglee prints from July 15 through August 5 at Maria's Books in Durango, Colorado. There will be a reception July 21 from 7 to 9 pm. Also, visit her website at www.serenasupplee.com. |
